Welcome Back to the CC International Grant Blog!

This year we will be exploring Japan and some of us will be visiting there as well!

I've done a bit of updating by adding a feed of videos related to Japan and added some new useful links.

I will continue to add new links, event notifications, and posts and I run across them.

Elections in India

The Hindu (online) is reporting on some of the voting turnout for Tamil Nadu elections. "In the Union Territory of Puducherry, over 85 per cent cast their vote." For those of us who traveled to India last month, I'm sure you remember the large numbers of troops we saw both in the airport and on the roads to south. Reports on voting indicate that everything has been peaceful thus far. The Hindu also reports, "Among other districts, it was 64 per cent in Kanyakumari; Chennai 66; Tuticorin 74, Coimbatore 75; Madurai 77 and Villupuram, Salem and Dharmapuri 81 per cent each. " Link to the story in the Hindu by T. Ramakrishan here.  See related coverage by the Indian Express.com in  Tamil Nadu Polls a Test for Congress and the You Tube video coverage: Battle for the states: Tamil Nadu Elections 2011.
